The Milesight EM500-SMTC-868M is a LoRaWAN® soil sensor measuring soil moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity (EC) in harsh outdoor environments. Its corrosion-resistant IP68 probe and IP67 transceiver suit smart agriculture, horticulture, greenhouses and irrigation control.

A replaceable 19000 mAh Li-SOCl₂ battery gives up to 10 years of operation, transmitting over LoRaWAN® up to 10 km line of sight. Configuration is via NFC or USB-C.

Before you install

  • Setup: via the Milesight ToolBox app (NFC) or over USB-C.
  • Power: a built-in lithium battery (ER34615), up to ~10-year life.
  • Data: over LoRaWAN — needs a LoRaWAN gateway to send data (sold separately); remote monitoring via the Milesight platform is free for up to 10 devices. Also supports Milesight D2D for direct control without a gateway.
